MottoTerms of Use
Effective 1 November 2026
These terms apply to the Motto: Daily Motivation iOS app ("Motto", "the app"). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Licence
We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Motto on Apple devices you own or control, under the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies. Where these terms and Apple's agreement differ, Apple's agreement wins for matters it covers.
Subscription and free trial
- Motto Premium is a yearly auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store. The price is shown in the app before you confirm.
- New subscribers get a 3-day free trial. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the yearly price is charged to your Apple Account and the subscription renews each year at the same price unless cancelled.
- Cancel any time in iPhone Settings, Apple Account, Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period stays active.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policy at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Content
Quotes in Motto are either in the public domain or written for Motto. Attributions are checked, but we cannot guarantee every attribution is correct; if you believe one is wrong, tell us and we will review it. Paintings are public-domain works from The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Open Access collection. Photos and video backgrounds are used under their licences. Quotes you type yourself remain yours; by adding them you confirm you have the right to use them.
Acceptable use
Do not reverse-engineer the app, resell access, or use the content in a way that infringes someone else's rights. Shared quote images are for personal, non-commercial use.
No advice
Motto shows motivational and reflective quotes. It is not medical, psychological, financial or legal advice. If you are struggling, please talk to a professional or a crisis line in your country.
Changes and termination
We may update the app, its content and these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept it. We may suspend access that breaks these terms.
Liability
The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under local law.
