Privacy Policy

Effective 1 November 2026

Motto: Daily Motivation ("Motto", "we") is an iOS app that shows quotes and Home Screen widgets. This policy explains what the app stores, what leaves your device, and why. The short version: there is no account, we do not sell data, and almost everything stays on your phone.

What stays on your device

• The name you type during setup, used only to personalise quotes on screen.
• Your answers to the setup questions, the topics you follow, your favourites, your own quotes, your themes and reminder times.
• Your streak and reading history.
• Photos you choose as a theme background. They are copied into the app's own storage and never uploaded.

This data is stored in the app's container and in the shared app group used by the widgets. Deleting the app deletes it.

What is sent to third parties

Apple. Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple's handling of that data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Adapty. We use Adapty (Adapty Tech Inc.) to manage subscriptions and understand which plan a device has. Adapty receives a random installation identifier, the Apple receipt or transaction information needed to validate the purchase, your device model, iOS version, locale, time zone and app version. It does not receive your name, your quotes or your topics. Adapty's privacy policy: adapty.io/privacy.

There are no advertising SDKs, no analytics that track you across other apps or websites, and no social logins.

Notifications

If you turn on reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. They are not sent through our servers and we cannot see them.

Children

Motto is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Your choices

• Change or remove your name, topics and reminders at any time inside the app.
• Delete the app to remove all local data.
• Manage or cancel your subscription in iPhone Settings, Apple Account, Subscriptions.
• Ask us to delete the subscription record held by Adapty by emailing the address below with your purchase date.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way we will update the date at the top and, where the change matters, mention it inside the app.
